Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless debuted the XYBOARD 8.two and 10.one tablets final month, but the Wi-Fi designs have however to be announced in the United States.

With only a few days left right up until CES 2012 trade fair kicks off, Motorola decided to put the two Wi-Fi versions of XYBOARD 8.2 and ten.one up for pre-order.

Though the slates can only be pre-ordered at Motorola‘s retailer, there’s a higher opportunity that other authorized sellers will add both tablets to their portfolios. According to Motorola the two Wi-Fi XYBOARD 8.2 and ten.1 tablets will be shipping in the week of January 18.

Clients who wish to pre-order any of the frou Wi-Fi Android-based tablets will have to pay the following costs: $ 399.99 for the 16GB Motorola Xyboard 8.two, $ 499.99 for the 32GB Motorola Xyboard eight.two, $ 499.99 for the 16GB Motorola Xyboard ten.one, and $ 599.99 for the 32GB Motorola Xyboard 10.one.

Even although Motorola removed the “DROID” element from the tablets’ names to how they have nothing to do with Verizon‘s branded XYBOARD designs, they all have comparable features, apart from LTE support, which is only offered for the carrier’s variants of the tablet.

Both Motorola XYBOARD tablets are powered by Google’s Android three.two Honeycomb, but the business currently confirmed plans to upgrade them to Ice Cream Sandwich sometime in early 2012.
